Interview

01.Please tell us about your work.

I am responsible for two departments: one that introduces foreign brands to buyers at select shops and supports the import and delivery of ordered products as a purchasing and import agent business, and another that operates our showroom, "SHOWROOM LOYTO," and its associated e-commerce site, "LOYTO STORE," which showcases brands to the general consumers. My main duties involve handling all the administrative tasks related to the import procedures and sales material creation for orders received from clients in the purchasing and import agency business, as well as managing the e-commerce site.

02.What do you keep in mind while working in the purchasing and import agency business?

Since we deal with many transactions overseas, we often encounter situations where our usual practices are inapplicable. First, I make sure to accept the opinions and thoughts of others before expressing our own. Additionally, as I act as a mediator between our clients and brands, I strive to maintain an appropriate balance while communicating.

03.What have you learned through operating the e-commerce site?

While I have had extensive communication with knowledgeable clients in the apparel industry, managing an e-commerce site for the general consumers has allowed me to tackle new challenges, such as explaining industry terminology in an understandable way and figuring out how to correctly convey foreign size notations and model selections to Japanese customers.

04.What do you want to achieve with the e-commerce site operation?

By directly introducing products from brands handled in our purchasing and import agency business on our own e-commerce site, I aim to deliver the brand's worldview and products to more customers. Furthermore, I hope to make the e-commerce site a bridge between foreign brands and Japanese customers.
